Some of the training/seminars and exposures that were conducted by ENVIS in collaboration with NIHESW are as follows:

  • District tour with the aim of contacting/liaison with District Collector (Deputy Commissioner) were done w.e.f. 17th – 19th July’ 2007 for Dimapur, Wokha, Zunheboto, & Mokokchung by a four member of ENVIS Centre.

  • Visit to Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) at Signal Basti, Dimapur on 15th of May’ 2008 & 27th of June’ 2008.

  • The Doordarshan Kendra Kohima (DDK) in collaboration with NIHESW organized a “TALK SHOW” on 5th June’ 2014, to commemorate World Environment Day.

  • 13th National Conference on New Frontiers of Community Education in the Context of Changing Local, National and Global Scenario held on 26-28 June, 2014 at Tamil Nadu was attended by Secretary (Health), NIHESW.

  • A free homeopathy cum physiotherapy medical camp was also organized by NIHESW in collaboration with Janjati Vikas Samity on 9th November’ 2014 at Viswema village under Kohima district.

  • The institute also participated in the cleanliness campaign at Kohima which took place on 25th September 2014.

  • The 22nd National Children’s Science Congress, the national event held at Bangalore from 27th – 31st Dec’ 2014 was attended by Nagaland team of 8 child scientist from different schools escorted by the state coordinator.

  • National Science Day was commemorated on 5th March’ 2015, short science films on innovators and innovations were shown to children from eight schools in Kohima followed by an essay writing contest on the films. The film show was a collaborative venture of the NIHESW, Kohima and START (Search for Truth and Return to Science), a television program company, New Delhi. These films are being screened all over the country by START to promote scientific temper among school children.

  • The Executives & the staffs attended the main function of the World Environment Day on 5thJune 2015 which was held at Kohima Botanical Garden. The Institute also observed Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, by cleaning the office premises and its surroundings and also carried out some plantation around the office premises.

  • NIHESW in association with Gorkha Public Panchayat, Kohima held a free homeopathy medical camp at Gorkha Public Panchayat Hall, Chandmari, Kohima on 19th July 2015.

  • The District Level Workshop of the 23rd National Children’s Science Congress’ 2015 was conducted on 14th July 2015 at NIHESW conference hall, Kohima.

The first subject specific ENVIS Nodes workshop was at Bangalore in June 2003 and the second at Bhubaneswar in November, 2003. The first meeting of ENVIS government Nodes was held on 25thFebruary 2004 at New Delhi.

The organization is a prominent activator of environmental issues since its inception. While participating in the Science Communicators Programme a massive environmental issue are displayed, taught and inducted to the mass as well as the children. There is a tremendous awareness built-up especially with the present situation of global warming, droughts, earthquakes etc.
